Mini-Animania in Sydney 2009

Mar 28, 2009 23:43

Only heard about this around 3 weeks ago, and whilst browsing through what events there will be... I saw them holding a Yukata workshop and registered myself into this short course that was (thankfully) suitable for beginners. Heck, I've never used a sewing machine in my life despite my mother having an ultra-professional one at home XDD

So off I went to Animania at 9.10am (talk about early!) and there I happily spending almost 4.5hrs making my very own yukata! =D Helen and Kirsten had been really nice in helping an ultra-idiotic newbie like me get the hang of working with pins, sewing machines, and fabric. Yeah, it sounds silly, but how the heck do you keep sewing in a straight line!?! My cloth just keeps going one way and the other! -____-|||

Ultimately, I managed to complete it, and here's completed work.

Yeah, I look fat in it. Bah =X I'm somewhat resigned to not being able to fit in that Boz skirt for a unsurmountable period of time... *whimpers*

But I digress. Whilst working on the yukata, the karaoke next door was really interesting XDDD There were the usual good and the bad, but the most incredulous that I heard was the ultra-off-tune sousei no aquarion, sung by a male no less. Really had to kowtow to his bravery… O.O The room was truly packed, and he still dared to sing! I wouldn’t… Nope, too shy to begin with XDDD

After the yukata workshop, went to wander around. Got to see cosplay chess, which was something interesting, then went upstairs to check out the stalls and stuff. Pity the place was rather small, so things was kinda cramped up. *sniffles* I’m starting to miss CosFest and EOY… Hopefully I will be able to get back by end of July! Then I’ll be able to catch EOY in the least.

Ah well, at least yukata had been fun XDDD

Some pics!!!

Lolitas!~ Or at least, two of them are... LOL.

Saturn!!!                                        I like his outfit!!!                And the bunny pole! XD

This Cloud's more rugged looking, but the cosplay outfit's cool enough!

3 guesses as to which anime 'tis from and the first 2 don't count!~

Sakura Taisen!!!                                                          Osu!

BJDs!!! It was only a small table, and the poor volunteer had to hold the lamp so that the lighting was better *sweatdrops*

   Her outfit's really cool!~~~
