In the dictionary when you look for Greece it should say: Greece=the land of non-organization,synonym:lack of system...
So,yesterday night I got out for dinner with a friend...The train that I would take back home would leave the station at 22:38.And it did...It went one station towards my destination and then apparently changed its mind and started going to the opposite direction...When I finally got off one station farther than my original I called information only to let me know that the next train was at 23:30...So I started wondering in a part of Athens rather unknown to me searching for a taxi...
Finally finding one I had the most surreal exchange with a cub-driver ever...
ME:Hello,I want to go to Kantza(the region I live in...It's rather in the suburbs of the city...).
HIM:(shakes his head...and gives me a 1 euro coin...)Go and buy me a beer...
ME:OK...
HIM:No wait!(gives me a 5 euro bill)Buy me a pack of cigarettes too...(said his label).
ME:You are getting me there, aren't you???
HIM:Yeah,I'll take you(as if he was making me a favor...well,he was practically but whatever...)
And he took me home...
Looking at it in the morning light,I consider myself the craziest and most stupid person on earth for ever getting in that car. But,you know what they say:Desperate times, need desperate measures...I blame it on that...LOL...Anyway,thankfully I got home safe and sound, but rather tired and irritated with my never-organized and unreliable country...
