Sookie Stackhouse Novels; Fall Semester Classes

Aug 25, 2009 09:52

Yesterday while I completed purchasing the rest of my course books for the Fall semester, I also went to Border's and nearly bought the entire set of the Sookie Stackhouse novels (all except maybe two/three that they didn't have, and those two are books that are slightly at the end of the novel series anyway). Anyone who knows me knows that I am completely obsessed with the HBO series of True Blood. True Blood for my own entertainment to myself is equivalent to a rabid Harry Potter fanatic. It's funny because when the show originally aired, I absolutely loathed it. The initial thing I hated was the southern accents of the show, and at the time I thought they were highly inaccurate and quite annoying. Now, the story lines and the overall principle of the show happened to grow on me after watching Season One. I'm quite excited to read the novel series because even while the show does stem from the books, there are certain things of the books that are not featured in the show, and vice versa. So far I have finished reading Dead before Dark yesterday, and I have to say that it's been an interesting read so far. It's in my intent to read a novel a day before the week is up (that is a hell of a lot of reading!) just so I can get it out of the way before classes start next week for myself.

Is there anyone else who have read/is reading the novels as well? -would love to discuss with you!-

Speaking of which, I'm very excited for classes this semester, just because two of my classes consist of criminal investigation (one of which I -think- might include a lab at some point, but I'm not certain yet). I have two on-campus classes and two online classes this semester, in which both of my on-campus classes fall on Tuesdays/Wednesdays from 930A-1220P. These are the classes I'm taking:

CRJ 164 - Intro to Criminal Investigation
CRJ 211 - Police in America
CRJ 225 - Criminal Evidence
CRJ 235 - Legal Method and Process

I'm glad to say that I was able to return to my local community college to complete these since my hometown university is quite expensive (no surprise there). I'm actually looking forward to getting back to my university, just because it was such a diverse campus and there was, of course, plenty of activities to do. I'm all prepared now for classes, so I'm pretty much ready to go for this semester.

I believe that I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that I have to go on hiatus from two RPGs. It's not the fact that I don't like these RPGs (that's a very far reason from it!), but it's in my best interest to lessen my writing load down again because of classes starting and the fact that I now work again. I will be staying at WWS and Myth, but I will have to be down for the count at FtA and 'Souls. I'm still teetering on the fact of perhaps trying to attempt to stay a little longer at FtA, but my muse for my characters at 'Souls has came to a standstill, and it would honestly make more sense if the both of them exit the game for now to pursue other "worldly adventures". I have to say that I do apologize for any rifts in plots that were had, but i'd rather admit to going on hiatus rather than be a shoddy player who draws out their replies way too slowly. Hopefully you all will understand this, and of course I will be stalking the hell out of these RPGs regardless. <3
