If you haven't watched BBC's series Sherlock, then I would be the first to recommend it, but even if you haven't, even if you only have the vaguest idea of what it's about, or canon Holmes, or have been living under a rock and don't even know canon Holmes, you MUST read this series. It is literally one of the most moving and beautiful things I have ever read and I don't care if that makes me a fucked-up human being, if that means I'm broken, because this. I literally just finished reading the newest (possibly last I don't know and I don't care), and I was crying, and I don't cry. At all, even when there are hormones at work I usually don't, and this. This is beautiful. If you never listen to another word I say, if you never take another recommendation I make, read this series. The English language is insufficient for conveying what I want to say about this series.
The Paradox Series ETA because I'm a moron: People who have triggery issues should be VERY VERY CAREFUL reading this series. It deals with a lot of dark themes and concepts, and the author doesn't put explicit warnings on what's going to be in the fic (not that she needs to, in my opinion, it's not bad like non-con bad, just rather dark, but then again I'm not triggery at all). So I just want you all to be warned ahead of time. It's not that bad in my view, but it does deal with a lot of things that people find disturbing and creepy, and she does have more serious warnings when the fics start to get, well, more serious. I'm not saying that this is very triggery material, though I have no idea if I'm even fit to judge that, but I do want you to be careful. Please don't read these and trigger an attack or something, I'd hate to have been the one who caused that. : ( JUST BE CAREFUL OKAY????
