011 [Video]
[The video feed opens up with Red facing the camera. Pikachu is on his shoulder. It looks like he's filming from outside of his house. A large laboratory building can be seen in the background.]
Hey. It's Red. [He holds up a hand in greeting then puts it down.] Uh, not many people know about it, but it's 'First Pokémon' week. It's when trainers recognize the first Pokémon they started with. Or I guess whichever one they had the longest. For me, that would be Pikachu. [He turns his head to look at Pikachu who waves to the camera and adds a cheerful 'Pika!'. Red turns back to the audience.]
I got Pikachu from Professor Oak when I started my journey. That's his lab back there. [He moves aside for a moment so the viewers can see the building more clearly.] It's weird thinking about how it happened over ten years ago, but I'm glad Pikachu's been with me the whole time.
I still get asked if I want to let him evolve, but I think we've been doing okay with the way things are. [He makes an awkward shrug. Pikachu surprisingly stays on. (He's used to it.)] I also get messages sometimes about how Pikachu is too small for a full battle, like what if he gets stepped on or something.
[Pikachu makes a scoffing 'Pi' noise. Red pauses to look at him then oddly away to the other side looking embarrassed.] Uh, that happened once... I learned my lesson. Getting electrocuted hurts a lot. We're okay on battles though.
I guess that's it unless anybody wants to ask anything. I'll turn this back on to answer. [Pikachu scoots forward a little looking expectantly as Red comes closer to turn the camera off.]
