[The camera switches on. The interior of the hatchery is shown similar to last time, but there are more staff members standing around the large egg which now sports a few cracks at the top. There are various supplies around the members, such as heating lamps, cooling fans, blankets, and tubs of water. Most of the members seem to have removed their uniform jackets and are fanning themselves from the incubation heating. Falkner stands in front of the lens as usual with his arms crossed, jacket still worn.
Something is slightly different in that there is a colorful bird perched on top of his head. Falkner seems to be ignoring it, though his visible eye twitches a bit when it lightly pecks at his hair.]
Greetings again, fellow trainers! I thank you for your patience, and I am honored that you have joined us for this event. Our mystery egg should soon hatch!
[The bird screeches random words from his last sentence while flapping. "Egg! Hatch!" Falkner's hair is slightly tossed at the motion, turning his proud smile into an annoyed frown. He steps aside slightly to allow a clearer view of the supplies.]
The staff has prepared numerous tools to care for any type of Pokémon that may the egg may contain. You will notice that the egg has produced a small opening at the top. There is no need to worry. As an egg matures, the air space inside grows larger as some of the fluid evaporates. From our staff's monitoring, we have seen the egg slightly moving since last week. Though we have recorded sounds coming from inside the shell, we have yet to determine the species.
[The bird screeches again "Species! Species! Aawk!"]
*Ahem* I would also like to thank the Ecruteak Gym Leader Morty and trainer Ethan for their assistance. I am pleased that we could receive talented visitors to aid us with our new arrival.
[The camera pans to Falkner's left showing Morty, Ethan and his Typhlosion among the other staff members. Morty smiles a little embarrassingly but waves towards the camera. Ethan vigorously flails both arms to belt out a barely-audible "HI, MOM! HI, SILVER!" His Typhlosion, who seemed quite comfortable in this heat, manages a contented wave with one paw.
As the camera moves back to Falkner, he is seen backing up to the egg. The lens zoom to follow.]
Though this egg has not matched any of our known data, we hope to see a brand new species of bird Po-
[Before the flight master could finish his sentence, the crack from the top of the egg grows down its side. A low bellowing cry is heard as the surface of the shell became littered in cracks. Just as Falkner turned to face the egg, the pieces burst out in various directions as what seemed like a large, blue balloon inflated itself from the inside.
There is an eruption of voices from the other staff members as their leader is suddenly bowled over by the hatched Pokémon. He lay on his back looking up at two small eyes and a wide 'teethy smile' belonging to the new baby. The colorful bird that was on his head before is flying in circles above them squawking in panic.]
WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS!? Someone push this thing off me at once!!!
[Whoever is holding the PNG seems to have dropped it to help his leader. The screen now shows a tilted angle of the ceiling of the hatchery. More shouts are heard along with yet another bellow. Someone counts to three and a chorus of grunts follow. An unidentified voice calls for water for the baby Pokémon and someone answers with a different voice that the tubs were too small. A few splashes are heard accompanied by sounds of Falkner sputtering and coughing.]
WAIT UNTIL I'VE CRAWLED OUT FROM UNDERNEATH IT, ABE!
[Someone calls out 'Sorry!' from a distance. The voices belonging to the other staff members return. There are a sighs of relief until another crooning wail is emitted from the baby.]
OH, FOR PITY'S SAKE!!! Rod, get the doors open, it's trying to follow me!!!
[The heavy pattering footsteps sound off towards the entrance. The floor vibrates rhythmically as if something heavy was crashing onto the wooden boards; the screen jolts with each impact. Multiple cracking sounds are heard as wood planks and splinters spin past the PNG screen; a flood of daylight illuminates the inside of the room. The shouts and bellows fade into the distance.
The screen shows what looks like a yellow paw before the recording is turned off off.]

[After roughly an hour has passed, the recording turns on again, but seemingly outside of Sprout Tower. A disheveled Falkner stands before the screen, arms crossed as usual, but his hair seems to have been through a category 5 hurricane. No birds are perched on his head nor shoulder. He wears a worn expression mixed with frustration, tiredness and suppressed anger. There is a short, collected pause before he speaks.]
Ah... I apologize for the... video before. I hope that I did not cause too much worry. The panic has subsided and we have returned to an orderly state. Damages are being assessed so we can quickly send for repairs. Morty, Ethan, forgive me for sending both of you to the Pokémon center, but it is best my staff take responsibility for any disruptions we have made to the city. You have my appreciation for your patience.
[He turns his head towards the right, the camera moves in that direction slightly. The baby Pokémon seen before is shown drifting around in the pond outside of the tower. A few playful squirts of water spouted from its dorsal side. Falkner returns his attention to the PNG.]
We have identified the Pokémon as a Wailmer. It is a water type species indigenous to the Hoenn region. Even as a hatchling, it is over two hundred pounds... [You can barely see a wince.] If any trainer is interested in raising it, please contact me at once. I believe it is for the Wailmer's best interest to find a larger body of wa-
[As if the Wailmer understood that Falkner wanted to part with it, the water mammal sprayed a large volume of water into the air which soaked Falkner as it landed. Small droplet beads drip down the screen of the PNG. The gym leader is silent for a moment; his hair sopping wet and flat against his head.]
As I was saying... please contact me at once. That is all. [The video flickers off.]
((OOC: I have both Ethan's player and Morty's player permission to use them briefly in this entry. Please let me know if you'd like me to make changes. Thanks! Sorry for the lateness!))
