Forgive me for sounding perhaps rude, but you're not part of any of the official leagues, right? How is it that you have a PNG? Does the association hand them out to trainers that apply for them? Clearly, I have no idea how they go about doing that.

There's no harm in explaining! I've just taken notice that the nearby regions all seem to share a common trait in their reigning Champions shirking their duties and letting the previous Champion hold the position in their place! It seems to have become something common over the last few years, wouldn't you say?

[ Wallace frowns. ] I would hardly consider May's current endeavors to be "shirking her duties", as you put it; she even expressed at the time that she did not want the title itself, just the thrill of the battle, which I understood and respected completely. Of course, I can understand how that would appear to look in another's perspective, but that is not the case with May and me.
