Resolutions...

Here it is, the first post of 2010. I hope it finds you happy and not too hung over. I have a couple of resolutions for the new year and I thought I would record them here:

1. I am going to read more of the classics that I have never read. To that end, I resolve to keep a list here on my journal of the new books I read all year. A couple of years ago I counted pages and books and thought briefly about doing that again but I decided it would just be books and that I would read a lot of new stuff this year instead of stuff I have read before.

2. I will not take part in other peoples dramas. There has lately been a lot of drama going on all around. If you know me at all you know I am very anti drama and hate it with a passion. It makes it even worse when the people on both sides of the goings on are people that I love and care for a lot and I have to watch them hurting each other. Therefore, I resolve to adopt a Switzerland like attitude. No, I am not going to start making chocolate, I am going to be neutral. No side choosing, no refereeing, no drama. Settle it among yourselves, own it or even better, just let it go and move on and get happier. Switzerland fully supports and is always willing to help with that last option, by the way.

3. In the spirit of my last resolution, I resolve to learn how to just let shit go. Sometimes you have to do stuff you just dont want to or wouldnt choose to. I generally react badly to times like that and its not always the depression and mental crap in my head that makes me do that. So I will work on getting better at dealing with it when I have to and just letting shit go. The world, as much as I would like it to, doesnt revolve around me and never will. I have always felt that if more people learned that lesson the world that doesnt revolve around them would be a better place and I need to do my share of learning too.

Thats about it for now. Its almost 4am and I am finally starting to get warm again after driving home in 15 degree (-9C) weather. My nuts no longer feel as if they could be used as click-clacks so warmth is just around the corner, anyway.

Happy New Year to all and may your year be as good as you want it to be :)
