Gender: Female
Background:
Oh hey she's a nationThe series has a wiki entry too Also, she was played in
mayfield-rpg using
silno-pyanstvo I'm going to try to stick as closely to canon as I can with her, but there are going to be some slight differences (most notably her age), because of cast-specific variations that happened because of Mayfield.
Personality: Roshian is a very minor character in a canon that is only half-translated, and as a result her personality contains a lot of headcanon and "how would the political actions of this nation translate into personality". What we do know about her from canon is she really likes cute things (but claims not to), will fly into a rage if she can't get what she wants, and smiles almost all the time in a not-very-nice way.
She collects cute things (including nations) under the pretense of them being "useful" to her, when really, they're just adorable. Yes, this is what the USSR was, Roshian collecting smaller nations and making them live with her because they were cute and she wanted them. That brings up another point: how Roshian treats things she likes. She can be downright cruel to things and people she lays claim to, like a child who breaks her toys because she knows she can get more whenever she wants. She doesn't love things or people, she's fond of them, and if she loses interest or affection for them, she'll break them and toss them out. That's not to say that she can't be protective or caring or kind (because she can), it's just that she'll only take the time and effort to be nice when it benefits or amuses her.
In Mayfield
If it weren't for all the death and murder and turning human and being stuck in 1950s America and all those weird nations from like two other worlds, Roshian would have loved her year in Mayfield. She had an overprotective "husband" and absolutely adorable "children" and got to play house! It was all very cute and nice and happy, and Luke was a very cute little boy (except then he went home and she missed three years of his life), and Raivis was also cute (and liked her more than he liked the Russia from his world), and Giriko was a surprisingly protective (though infuriating more often than not) husband who she fell hard for. The hardest part (besides the town killing people off left and right) was adjusting to being a human, which included not only not having that constant awareness of not only all of her people but also meant that she lost that constant "instinctive" knowledge of how to interact with other nations that came from her government. This loss of guidance resulted in some pretty stupid and impulsive decisions, everything from
stabbing Meriken to growing overly fond of a psychopath who turns into a chainsaw.
I could write up entire paragraphs on why stabbing Meriken in Westport entirely unbalanced Roshian, but for the sake of length, I won't. Basically, by terrifying and injuring Meriken (and the injury did affect the other nation for the rest of her stay in the game, paralyzing her arm), Roshian realized that she could do impulsive and dangerous things without needing to think them through and consider the consequences. And then there was no IC retaliation, despite Meriken and Bri-tan both being in Mayfield, and Meriken having positive CR with the APH cast. Basically, Roshian did something horrible and got away with it completely. So she tested things a bit more, did some more foolish and impulsive things, and realized that she could get away with a lot more in Mayfield than she ever could back home. So she took that idea and ran with it a bit, and while she never did anything crazy enough to draw the attention of the rest of the town, the idea is pretty firmly stuck in her head that she can get away with almost anything as long as it only hurts a few people.
Another note is that she is sick and tired of being compared with the APH nations, especially since it usually resulted in "oh you're another crazy person who thinks they're Russia? Are you as fat and creepy as the other one?" As a result, she will not go out of her way to introduce herself as a nation, despite having no "human name". She assumes that if people are worth talking to, they should be smart enough to figure things out without detailed explanations.
What kind of things will they be bringing with them? A TANK AND THE BIGGEST CANNON IN THE WORLD please. she had them in mayfield obviously she should have them in avon
okay if not that then just her clothing and possibly the jewelry box described in
this thread. BUT COME ON YOU WANT A TANK AND THE WORLD'S LARGEST GUN
Abilities: Your typical "lol personified nation" powers. Near-immortality, ability to tell what's going on in the country, super-quick healing, probably like super strength or something idk. She's also scary. Being scary is an ability.
Third Person Sample: Roshian was not one to allow a change in surroundings to shock her. She had awoken in a strange (and empty) bed in a strange (and older) room, had taken seconds to confirm that this was no longer Mayfield, and had wasted less than a minute on mourning the loss of everyone she had known and the life she had lived for the past year. Then she had gotten dressed and set out to explore this new town.
The city was pleasantly tangled and full of life, houses and buildings piled up on top of one another in a variety of different styles and colors and stages of decay, people who talked and laughed and shouted and shot odd looks at Roshian's hair and eyes. There was something very refreshingly normal about this new world, despite the oddities in the architecture and language, and the inexplicable method of her arrival here.
She wandered around for a few hours, exploring shops and streets, riverbanks and museums, graveyards and churches. A nice enough city, but one she found out soon enough that she could not leave. That too was all right. It was better to be turned back by guards at the gate than to exit and find herself entering from the opposite side of the town. She headed back to her rooms armed with a better knowledge of this place, and then (and only then) decided to use the strange device she had found to make contact with anyone else who might be trapped here.
First Person Sample: [A woman appears on the screen (early twenties, white hair and red eyes, dressed in a heavy fur coat and hat), taps it once or twice as if she's making sure it works, and then smiles. Something in the smile doesn't quite reach her eyes.]
Ah, I am not sure-- [A pause, considering something, and then when she speaks again her thick Russian accent is gone. She'll just talk in Russian, if this town is translating for her.] This place is different from the last one. Does anyone know what exactly is going on?
If anyone has seen a boy named Luke, a boy named Raivis, or a girl named Rin, please tell me.
