and people like Arianna Huffington are talking about the presidential election. The desperation and horror of the current office holder provoking the most media-worthy story of the impending showdown between Condi and Hillary. Ugh...Right now people are looking for the anti-Hillary: a clean-shaven and articulate Al Gore, the New Nixon; John Kerry Redux; or Dr. Dean in da House. And since things are wide open, even Arnold Schwartzenegger has been suggesting that the constitution be amended to allow naturalized catizens to be president. I say, you Governator are what the Founding Fathers thought of when they came up with that law...perhaps a vision of you as a Terminator roaming the halls of the Capitol drove John Jay to write of the need for this clause's inclusion in the Constitution. Who knows? What everyone seems certain of is that no other Senator could beat Clinton. While some people reading this maybe be shocked at the casual dimissal of everybody but Hillary, I'm horrified to think anyone would elect a senator over a governor when the last two Democratic presidents were former governors. I think since LBJ and the Great Society, a liberal legislative president became a unpalatable issue in America. Even when a distinguished member like Kerry is asked to point to something prominent they did there, they come up blank or offer the vision of 'yeah, well as president i'll know how to talk to congress'. By the measure that Kerry ran against the worst president in US history and lost, superior policy knowledge is no guarantee of electoral success. So outsiders like Dean seem viable, but only if the primaries can be restructured and ex-senator and ex-President Al Gore could use his sinister invention, the Internet, to garner megamillions for an anti-Clinton pro-environment run. Would he end up against Condi? or would America's pseudo-lesbian bitch fight fantasies be fulfilled by Clinton vs. Rice? I wonder if Condi could get elected in the GOP with its hard-core Christian base...but who are they left with? Dr.'I can tell from a distance she lives'Frist? Sen. Brownback? guy already sounds like he's full of shit. And don't tell me about Cheney, he'll be entirely cyborg by 2008 and as I pointed out earlier our Founding Fathers did not want a robot president.
