But it all worked out

Sunday Night Chili last night started out as a bit of a comedy of errors, or, as I'm choosing to think about it, a chance for me to exercise my relaxed-hostessing muscles. Within two hours of start time, two guests canceled and my neighbor was like, "hey, can my kid and I come to chili?" Which, fine, there was space, except they're vegetarians and ( Read more... )

Younger! Yay!!

I THOUGHT you might like that! I will for sure keep you posted, maybe more than you actually want.

Also: Josh. Josh. Josh. That is all.

So, I have to say that IN THEORY that actor feels kind of bland to me-like I can't actually remember what he looks like when he's not in front of me, he's just some dude-but that Josh himself is obviously a delight and their chemistry is SO good and sexy. It's been a while since I've watched something where the whole goal was "attractive people being googly-eyed at each other," and it is not a terrible thing at all.

So, I don't know I realized in the beginning that your Sunday Night Chili would be EVERY Sunday.

Welllll, it's not actually every Sunday-it's every other. Which is still pretty often, but I decided I needed to keep some Sundays for myself!

Which leaves me with a serious question: Are you/is your body getting sick of chili? I know we have different palates and tolerances, but chili is no joke!

Totally fair question! And so far: no. But there are a few reasons for that: 1) I DO really like chili, and really, all things bean-based. 2) I've been ending up with 8-9 servings of chili, which mostly gets eaten, so I'm not dealing with a ton of leftovers. Sometimes I actually wish there were more! 3) My standard chili recipe is super healthy-it's onions, garlic, fresh jalapenos, crushed tomatoes, a bunch of spices, sometimes a beer (which brings a ton of depth of flavor, and I recommend it), dried beans, and if I'm not making it for vegetarians, a bit of ground turkey or a couple pounds of chicken breasts. So it's not super heavy (zero Weight Watchers points, actually), and I think that helps. I will probably experiment with other chilis at some point, and may venture into beefier, heavier territory then, but I decided it had to be something my body could stand to eat regularly. But yes, if it were every week, I would probably be approaching "over it" by now.

That aside, I think it's lovely you are offering your home up once a week! You remain my #FriendshipGoals.

Hee! Thanks. It's been fun so far! And you are, of course, invited to Sunday Night Chili whenever you want.
