To NBC Thursday I say: HEEEE.
To Lost I say: AAUGH!
To everyone else I say: Look how much TV there is on my TV!
- I love Ryan. Except that I HATE Ryan. Except that I love Ryan.
- Conclusion: BJ Novak, you're an awesome, awesome douchebag.
- Drug problem = after-school special? I dunno.
- You know who I love, except-free? Kelly. "If I made a website that had this many problems, I'd kill myself." Kelly's like the new Creed--she's never around for more than thirty seconds at a time, but she makes it count.
- OH, TOBY. You did NOT just do that...and then mumble something about Costa Rica, hop the fence, and jog away. In your trench coat.
- Except...where are they going with all this "Pam and Jim are not as perfect as you think!"? Because I don't believe them.
Somewhere along the road, Mindy Kaling's brain became a twisted and hilarious place. Not a place of great heavy-lifting, so much, still a Thing That Is Awesome.
- How is Will Arnett so off-putting and so charismatic at the same time? I can just never decide what to do about him, except that I sort of love him.
- Other than that, all I can remember is Liz's corporate hair. Totally distracting.
- Oh, except Dr. Spaceman! In a cape! I loooove Dr. Spaceman. "Except how are we to know where the heart is? Every human is different!"
I must be losing my mind because Lost absconded with it. I swear I loved last night's episode. Huh. Moving on!
- How is it possible that, in one episode, we spend so much tedious time wandering around the Middle East(!) with Ben(!!) and still cover so much plot? How can I be bored and toe-wigglingly excited all at the same time? Magic.
- This episode = Daddy-Daughter Dinner Dance. (Dead.) OMG, Alex! I did not love you all that much, but I certainly didn't HATE you, and now your dad/"dad" screwed up because they changed the rules, and you're DEAD and now he's going to kill Penny Widmore, except that he can't, because I/Desmond will not let him. HANDS OFF PENNY, DUDE. (Also, Charles Widmore was totally right. It IS Ben's fault. Not like the guy wasn't counting down and giving him plenty of hints. But what a horrible death! "She means nothing!"...and scene for the poor girl.) Argh.
- So, Charles says Ben won't find Penny. Is she in the same box as Locke Sr./Tom Sawyer? (With Desmond, one hopes?)
- Surprise! Ben's a liar! He said he didn't know anything about the Smoke Monster, BUT HE DOES. "Here, Smokey! Come on, boy! Who's a good smoke monster? YOU ARE! YES YOU ARE!" But I loved a) the pixelly your-cable-is-going-out effect of the monster in the trees, and b) Smoke Monster As Train. Yay!
- Upon thinking about it, I've decided I could totally go for Sawyer/Claire.
- Hee, of COURSE the murder and mayhem of the future is Sayid's idea. Which is way cooler than Ben working his (womanly) wiles. (Other than that, Sayid bores me. I'm sorry.)
- Uh, how did I totally forget about Kate/Jack? Yay next week! Jack wants Kate (...to get him some water, or wipe his forehead with a cloth, or possibly cut out his appendix with a sharp piece of shrapnel), and I am stupidly willing to go along with the (liarly) previews. (Also, I am a HUGE HUGE dork, because in thinking of Kate dealing with Surgical Patient Jack, I totally hear Elphaba from Wicked trying to save Fiyero. "I don't even know what I'm reading! I don't even know what trick I ought to tryyyyyy!" Again: DORK.)
Oh, man, I love this show.
