Time seems to fly by so quickly. And yet, I feel like I haven't done all that much. I hear from so many people traveling here or there. I wonder, how they are funding it. I wish I could do that, too. But, money is tight. Ever since I spent money on buying a car, I haven't had as much money to spend. *sigh* I am envious of those people who inherit a car or simply have their parents pay for it. Yet, I am still lucky that my parents helped me out with undergrad. I am grateful for that. I'm saving up for grad school expenses. Hopefully, I'll still be able to work part time. But, at the same time, I really want a break from working. I really don't want to move back home. I like having my own apt and having it nice and cool. I will be in debt in the fall if I take out loans to pay for my living expenses.
I'm hoping the best for my bf in commercial real estate. He's having a tough time and stressed out about it. But, I hope he'll be able to learn quickly and step up his game. I don't know much about the business, but I heard it's really really competitive.
Last night, I went to a single's social to support a new friend of mine, Tammy Vu. I didn't realize she had a whole agenda planned. I assumed it would be a casual Tropioca get together. Oh well. There's always a first. Most of the people there were pretty young, especially the guys. I forgot how guys acted at that age. But all in all, I think I had a good time.
---edit---
I had a conversation with my co-worker about fructose.
"...unlike glucose, fructose does not stimulate insulin secretion or enhance leptin, a hormone thought to be involved in appetite regulation, production. Because insulin and leptin act as key signals in regulating how much food you eat and body weight, this suggests that dietary fructose may contribute to increased food intake and weight gain."
However, studies have shown no evidence that it affects hunger:
"Martine Perrigue, et al at the University of Washington compared subjects' level of fullness (satiety) after consuming HFCS-, sucrose- and aspartame-sweetened beverages with milk and a no-beverage control. The study found that all four caloric beverages "suppressed hunger ratings and increased satiety ratings relative to the no beverage control. However, there were no significant differences in satiety profiles among the sucrose- and HFCS-sweetened beverages, diet cola, and 1% milk." ("Hunger and satiety profiles and energy intakes following the ingestion of soft drinks sweetened with sucrose or high fructose corn syrup (HFCS)"
Ah well...I was hoping to find a reason for my plump belly.
