you know, when i came to study abroad in england, i knew that the work load id have would be incredibly light. i knew that i would have a lot of time on my hands. and somehow i knew that regardless, i would make things as hard on myself as possible by waiting till the last feasible moment to do ANYTHING. added up it cost me about a week's worth of sleep and more all-nighters than i've ever pulled in my entire life. let's not mention the stress.
as it turns out, i am surprisingly productive on so little shut-eye. i actually managed to get it all done with only one of 5 final papers being a little late. for me, that is *astounding*. and last week i somehow hit a personal record of 50 consecutive hours sans sleep. wow. talk about delerious. i started telling shiz to not name her rolodex or else it would end up dying a horrible, tragic death. does that even MEAN anything? no.
right. so now im going on 37ish hours awakeness. nice. the bad news is that now school is over (yes, today was the last day. happiness.) and i really have no excuse at all to be awake right now. none whatsoever. at all. the good news is that ive planned much of my itinerary (booking tickets and hostels and whatnot) for the next month or so. id like to say im turning over a new leaf, but seriously, it has to be the influence of
my uberplanniful girlfriend. this is totally out of character for me. but really it's probably just my lack of Zs. imagine what i'd be capable of if i went a whole week without rest...
ok, so you want to know what ima be up to for the next month since school is out and im not due back your side of the pond until april 27th. goes like this. on monday i head out to bath (that is a town) to meet my brother-in-law a.k.a. one of my best friends to hang out for a week and give him some back up rhythm as he leads praise and worship at a conference. fun. after that, i have a 3-day downtime during which i will ceaselessly be pacing in mad circles because once it's over, something uber special happens.
some of you may know that mary and i have never actually met in person. this draws the odd sideways glance from time to time, but the truth is, she's one of the best friends i've ever had. and i cannot wait to finally see her. cannot. wait. when she gets here, we will frollick around london all giddy-like for a day before we take off for nice, france. beautiful city on the mediterranean. cannot. wait. after 3 days of niceness we will grace london with our presence once again until it is time for the much-loathed SobFest '05.
after the Fest, my plan is to head straight from london to belfast where i will meet up with my awesome MC peoples, most notably the beloved rindels, but also some other good friends who ive missed these last few years. very exciting. in conclusion, i will see some of my absolute favorite people alive in the span of 3 weeks. and in europe of all places.
people, summer break doesn't start off any better than this.
and there's that. sorry i havent updated in so long. i uh, thought you could use the extra time to uh, reflect on those scripture verses...
oh, and ive been meaning to update about scotland. note to self: update about scotland.
