In Hamburg, day 12/86

Hamburg is really cool. The only annoying thing is the weather. Every say is sunny, cloudy, rainy, cold, warm, and windy. It's just at 30-60 minute intervals of each throughout the day. The weather is very Aprilly, only super sporadic. Sunlight lasts a while.

Some of our colleagues gave us German music. Wir sind Helden is pretty good. Juli is ok. and the unplugged Fanta4 is interesting. German Rap. I'll leave it at that.

Germans eat pigs, bread, chocolate, and beer. I like Holsten the best. The bars here are definitely better than in London, and open later. We went to the Reeperbahn in Hamburg's red light district. That was pretty crazy. It's like Vegas, only much sluttier with younger people. I didn't like it. I like barring in the Sternschanze better. Much more chill.

They make this thing called Alsterwasser here, which is beer and sprite? or beer and lemonade.. or maybe lemony sprite. This is a Hamburg thing, the Alsterwasser Linda and I tried was pretty bad. But they sell Beck's and Jever in lemony lime flavors (at 2.5% alc. vol. though..) and those are similarly idead, but taste much different... The Jever Lime is good, Beck's Green Lemon is bleh. So I suppose the beer just didn't suit the sprite. So maybe I'll try Alsterwasser at a different bar.

Hamburg shopping is intense. On the Jungfernstieg (spelling is prolly wrong) it's very upscale. Like 5th Avenue only looks like a mixture of venice (super pretty, with canals) and soho, decent looking streets and buildings. On the Mönkebergstr. (also spelling) it's much cheaper.. like H&M and regular people shopping kinda stuff.

I love Commerce Bank because using the ATM was super cheap (no fees) and I got a great rate.

They don't have bagels. I will try and find them, though.

That's all for now.
