Finally, I get a moment's rest from the super-duper stressful last couple of days.
As many of you know, my town house is now almost completely empty. This all thanks to Patrick, Chris, and John K. They all worked really hard helping me move all my junk into a POD. I stayed working later that night, and went back on Monday for another four hours or so, but the place was ready then for the contractors to start demolition of the drywall that had been wet during Hurricane Wilma.
I had a board meeting this evening, so I got to look in at the work so far. Surprisingly, ALL the drywall that needs to be replaced has already been ripped out. They dumpster will be delivered tomorrow, so all the broken drywall and insulation is sitting in large piles in every room of the house. There is no ceiling at all in the master bedroom, just a super-huge space all the way up to the roof-bottom.
According to the property manager, they did not actually find mold.. a good thing. They will treat for it anyway as a preventive measure. Then, once they have the area cleaned up, they will call in for the inspection that they have to pass before they can hang new drywall. That will take a few days or a week to get that inspection done, and then they will be able to hang the new walls and ceilings.

I am mostly settled into my room at
InvaderSteven's place and I got my laptop hooked up to network, finally. This is a nice thing, cause I likes to be online some and it means I will be able to work on my hobby sites. The air mattress isn't that bad, I've slept fairly well. The dust and or cat allergies are manageable with a pill too. Another thing that was fairly important to me is that my Tivo works here. The signal is not perfect. but hey, is all good. I can still catch my shows, so that is all that really matters.
I called up Comcast last night and reduced my services back to bare-bones for the duration of my stay at Steven's. This included turning off the cable internet. I will continue to pay for the equipment so that I don't have reactivation fees when I move back in.

I am working on a very important project at work. I've been working on it for about three weeks actually.. and doing almost all the work myself. I can't write about it yet, but it goes live in a week and I'll be famous ... not really. It is a big deal though.

I have a possible opportunity to move to NY for quite a bit more money. I am not sure that I am willing to move though. As everyone know, I am fairly risk averse and that would be anything but a small lifestyle change.
Peace,
Jonathan
