Sushi!!!!
Okie so I've been meaning to make some sushi and onigiri (rice balls) for a few days now but I was too lazy.. =D Not today I made several different types of sushi, but no onigiri.. maybe tomorrow since I'll have the house all to myself again. =D Anyway.. let me tell you what different types I made..
Now first I made the regular sushi that most people know, it's called Maki Sushi.
Rolls:
1st roll consisted of spam and cucumbers.
2nd roll consisted of mango and mandarins.
3rd roll consisted of cucumbers, spam and canned chicken.
4th roll consisted of mango, mandarins, cucumbers, spam and canned chicken.
All were divine!!! It was a party in my mouth! =D and here's a few pics!
The second type I made is called Spam Musubi. As you can see it's just a layer of rice, spam on top and nori (seaweed) wrapped around it. =D I found the recipe in this blog that I've been reading for a few days now.. http://sushiday.com/archives/2007/06/13/spam-musubi/ She is just brilliant!
Unfortunately, my sushi's were all falling apart.. = / It was the rice I'm sure because it was sticky to the fingers but fell apart too easily which makes me wonder what my mom did when I went up to grab something and told her not to touch it but came back and found a fork next to the pot.. >.< No stirring!!! rawr!
lol Anyway, they taste great and the mango mandarin one is my new fav. =D Take care! Anyone who wants sushi let me know I made more than enough lol.. I'll email them out! =D
