Bike Ride

Today was a balmy day in the mid 70's, so I decided to celebrate with a bike ride. I noticed again today that the Sammamish River Trail reminds me a lot of being in Germany. Perhaps it's because I went on a couple of long bike rides while I was there, but the countryside and climate also seems similar. So when I came home, I looked up the latitudes and discovered the similarity theory might have some basis. Schwäbisch Hall: 49° N, Seattle: 47° N. And though there's no bridge of Argonath proportions, I could see Mt. Rainier from parts of the trail on the way home.

I just did a short ride up to Wilmot Gateway Park and back, since I need to get my rear reflector replaced and wanted to make sure I was home before dark. I stopped there for some water and checked out a map of the trails they have in the cement there. My new goal is to one day ride to the Chittendam Locks in Ballard (and eat at the Lockspot Cafe, of course). And then probably bus home.
