During my layover in Minneapolis on the way back from Thanksgiving, a woman sat down next to me and asked me if I wanted a book. It took me a second to process this offer that came totally out of the blue. I was hesitant at first since I already had a book, but then I saw that the title was The Undomestic Goddess. I couldn't resist. It was a fun little book. No great work of literature by any measure, but a good way to keep occupied for a few hours on a flight.
The woman was only next to me for a few minutes before getting up to get in line to board, but she told me that she tries to find people to give travel books through when she's done or leaves them in the seat pocket on the plane. I personally am rather reluctant to part with books, but it seems like a good use of a book you know you're not going to read again: you make someone happy and you let a book be read.
So I know I'll probably never see you again, but thank you. And I'll try to pass it on.
travel,
thanks
