...because if i would have never done it, i wouldn't know what it feels like to lose it.
...because if i would have never done it, i wouldn't understand why it is so important to people.
...because if i would have never done it, i wouldn't have this much passion for anything.
...because if i would have never done it, i wouldn't have met some of the most important people that are in my life because of it.
...because if i would have never done it, i wouldn't be the same person i am today.
So to all the kids that have asked me if i think they should rejoin the team, my answer is yes. I realize why you quite, and i thank you for sticking up for me and for what is right, but you shouldn't let one person that is only looking out for him self take away the reasons i have given you above. Although Red Mountain Speech and Debate is at the lowest point it has been at in 13 years, deep down it is still pure. Just because one man has corrupted it, don't let him take away the experiences it can give you. The only person that can keep you from having those experiences is yourself, he only has power over you if you let him.
If everyone that cares about the welfare of the team gave up on it now nothing would be left. So act, compete, interp, speak, debate, and always stand up for what you believe in. Because it is better to cry over something you did stand up for than to cry over something you didn't stand up for.
