I haven't seen hide nor hair of Mr. or Mrs. House Finch since we've been back from vacation. I fear that they've either abandoned the nest, or been eatten. No more of the eggs have hatched, but the one out there looks... smaller and scronnier than he did yesterday morning. I don't rehab birds so I can't give you much advice (I do strictly mammals!), but here's a good flow chart for what you do if you've found a baby bird. Of course, it doesn't tell you how LONG you should wait for the mother bird to come back before you call a wildlife rehabber, so if you want to just make sure you're doing the right thing, you can look up a local wildlife rehabber by your area and call to see what you should do.

The good news is that the old wives tale about mother birds not coming back to their young because they smell humans on the babies or near the babies is a myth, so I don't think that's the case with Mrs. Finch. But there might be another reason why she's not coming back and that is pretty worrisome. :-(
