these full size scans are bigger than what I normally do...

...but that's largely because I didn't scan them myself. Also explains why they're kinda crooked.

11:16 PM 8/28/07 · More often than not you don't see much of the Norse Gods without Thor being in the picture; in Marvel Comics anyway However, the God of Mischief (Loki) often dallies with others besides his most hated step·brother and in this particular case it actually started as an attempt to do good.

This is the 3rd part to an epic tale that spans 4 different series. Loki was trying to appease the desires of beings the Asgardians view as gods by being an age of peace and enlightenment to Earth. Indirectly through the genesis of this attempt, the granting of mystically based superhuman powers to all, his actions brought on the attentions of both Alpha Flight and the X·Men. At first it seemed to be exactly the kinda thing that might work, before they knew of Loki's involvement, but they found it came at a terrible cost and put an end to it. Before it came to a close, Those That Dwell Above (labelling of these powerful beings) made Loki swear never to do either Alpha Flight or the X·Men any harm.

So he turned his attentions to others closely related to them...namely the New Mutants. At the time they were keeping company with Storm, during the time she had lost her powers due to being shot by Forge's neutralizer, and on vacation. Loki had them kidnapped by the Enchantress and cast a spell on Storm to adapt her to the ways of Asgard. Eventually the New Mutants turned the tables on the Enchantress but not before each of them was bonded to Asgard through one method or another...

...and eventually news of this got through to the X·Men.

They did the only thing they could do.

For those unknown to Marvel Comics' version of the Norse Gods...if you like Renaissance Faire or Lord of the Rings you'll love this.

My two favorite parts involve the starship Enterprise, it'll make sense when you read it, and the scene where Sunspot answers one of the lesser gods question near the beginning of the final battle.

Oh, the 4th part was brief and played into the Alpha Flight series...but I don't remember much.
