Do you ever feel like you spend too much time thinking? I feel like my mind is always racing. Sometimes I'd just like to shut my brain off.
I couldn't fall asleep last night because I was thinking of everything that's been going on and how busy I am going to be once school starts. My sleep schedule is going to be so messed up starting Friday, because of frosh week. Especially on the night where we go around at 2 o'clock in the morning and wake all of the other colleges up. I loved that so much last year. Basically, one night our entire house (including alumni, so like...50 of us) woke up around 1:30 am and met up in the quad. Then we walked around campus to every other college and pretended we were from New College (and not UC), screaming "Fuck you, we're from New!". I think the best was when we went to the New College dorms and some chick opened her window and yelled, "This IS New, assholes!" It was so great. And then the engineers and their cannon.
Now I'm getting excited for frosh week. Part of me isn't looking forward to going back to Toronto, though. Ugh, so much drama.
So I babysat for the twins today...last time for a while. They gave me a card that said 'Just wanted to say goodbye' and that made me pretty sad. They're going to be ten in the fall, and I started watching them the summer before they turned four--so it's been a while. But we had fun today. When they were younger, I used to make them laugh by taking a piece of my hair and holding it across my upper lip as if it were a mustache. And today Paul grabbed two pieces of my hair, held them up, and went, "Look, you have horns!" and Phil goes, "You're a horny woman!" I'm pretty sure I died laughing. They didn't know what I found so funny. Ah, the ignorance of youth.
I'm in a strange mood. I think it's all the excitement and anxiety of going back to school.
