puking - a mostly Callum post

Jun 09, 2006 10:29

Yesterday Callum puked up in some portion after almost every feeding! He has been puking up more in the morning than usual( which is not at all) on this medication the past week, but this was all day long! He puked on Kevin three times in the morning, me about 5 , then Kevin again last night, and me again..... I finally gave him some gripe water ( fennel, chammomile and ginger with a little sucrose in water) and he kept everything after that down. He also slept through the whole night again which he hasn't done for the past few days. Of course this was the night I told Kevin that he could get up with him as I was just too tired.

With all the puking I was worried he would get dehydrated because it was a very hot day (30 degrees C), though nicely air conditioned inside. It is so hard to tell when they spit up how much they are actually keeping down. I had to remind myself that he still had wet diapers so he was probably okay ....I am sure it is the dumb medicine that we need to take  for another week. If I hadn't already tried every homeopathic remedy ( and they all failed), including all the bottle and soother handling things( including boiling them all every day, microwaving and finally throwing out ALL the old soothers and buying new ones!) ...I would just pitch the medication and move on....sigh.

Not much else new here! He is finally napping.

Did I mention that he is very tricky ? He fusses and cries to get your attention, but the SECOND you turn your head to look at him he smiles, as if to say - Yay! It worked!  And his hair is looking quite red in certain light - where does that come from I wonder? Perhaps 5 generations back?
