Part of this trip across the pond was to see just how portable my office could be. I already deal with most of my clients remotely, even the ones in Montreal, so I was pretty well set up before I left. I finally caved and paid for the latest firmware upgrade for my iTouch. I didn't want most of the apps that came with the upgrade, but I wanted to be able to install last.fm and that meant upgrading. I'm also considering getting an iPhone and this upgrade would let me see how well the mail application works for me ( Read more... )

I'm feeling a bit discombobulated. I returned home from a nice lunch with baronscartop, booted up the computer to fire off a couple of e-mails and do a bit of work. All was good for about 5 minutes then my laptop started making loud whirring, grinding noises. I turned it off. Rebooted. Immediate noise. Off again. Called support. Tech should arrive Monday.  Maybe it's my music library, but most of the CDs that I'm trasferring to mp3 with iTunes are not in the iTunes library so I have to manually find and paste in the album artwork. It's really frustrating and I'm beginning to think WTF? What's it good for.

I got my iTouch syncing to work with the calendar and contacts! I'm over the moon! (Yes, little things excite me.) Unlike other iPods, the iTouch won't sync with Thunderbird, so it took an upgrade to Outlook 2003. It won't work on Outlook 2000. Not that the packaging information or support pages tell you that. That took a call to Apple support.
