All right, so anyone who has spent approximately more than 5 minutes with me, either in person or online, knows I talk about Taylor Swift a LOT. I have a lot of feelings about her. I completely unironically think she and her music are marvellous, and it delights me that she’s out there as a role model for young girls. I even spent a very productive ( Read more... )

OMG, I love Taylor Swift! I was so disappointed when she came to Japan in June, but I didn't learn until May, so of course it was too late. Next time she tours for sure! When I worked in a convenience store, and I chose the music, I had one music-fan customer who said he didn't like her, but when I was playing Fearless, he's listening and he goes, "Oh, who is this?"

Anyway! I'm going to agree with most of your assessments because I love pretty much everything she does, but:

-Red: I love the beat and the energy, and her crazy similes.
-Sparks Fly: I don't know what it is about this song that's just so irresistible. Sometimes I just listen to it again and again.
-Mean: I love Taylor Swift when she gets all nasty like this. This, and "Better Than Revenge".
-Haunted: I consider this one gothic rock, and I think it's so awesome that she can go from country to gothic so easily.
-Change: I like everything about this song except the last verse. I also heard it as the struggle of being an activist, but as much as activists love massive events, and sometimes laws pass and things change overnight, usually things take a lot longer. So I never really got this song until I read about how she was writing about herself-- then it made sense. Plus, OMG, the "Hallelujah".
-"Mine", "Love Story": I like how she can just tell a simple story, in easy language, and make it sound so good.
