The Good Life

Since closing my Facebook account I've been appreciating life more. Sounds dramatic but it's true. No more wasted time reading various people's useless, irrelevant updates nor having to "like" this'n that. It's refreshing.

Spent the first 'summer' weekend at the Gracefield cottage this one past. Was amazing. Took up the kayaks and enjoyed some time on the river. Burnt up a bunch of leaves we raked from the yard. Had a family picnic Sunday afternoon. Was pure bliss. Panicked a bit when we got home Sunday night though; my face was very very red! I don't burn, so I was perplexed at the sight of my flaming face. After applying oodles of aloe vera I realized it was from the fire! Sure the sun helped too but I had semi cooked my face by being too close to the fire (tending to the piles of burning leaves)! *sigh* Luckily the following day the redness dissipated. Lesson learned.

Thinking of heading to Godfrey cottage for May long weekend. Haven't seen Dad since Xmas! Hopefully it's as warm if not warmer then. The dog will love love love it there. Just hope Dad can handle her...

Looking forward to the GGG this year. It's the largest garage sale in the city; an entire neighbourhood participate in selling, and people come from all around to shop. We're selling this year! Have begun cleaning out kitchen stuff, bedroom stuff, music, and soon will tackle the spare bedroom. I need to purge!
