Falooda
Yet another food-post. Not very good for my media image; I seem
to be such a glutton.
Finally visited one of arunshanbhag 's favourites - Badshah Falooda
at Crawford Market. I had a Badshahi Falooda and the serving was
huge. Gobs of superb kulfi floating in a very large bowl of not-too-sweet
falooda. The flavoured milk had lots of chopped dry fruits; sabja and thick,
flourescent orange shewaya. It was served just cold, not chilled.
The taste was excellent and I'll definitely go back but the next time, I'll
have only kulfi. A whole falooda is just too heavy and I don't think they
offer half-servings. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, considering
the quality and quantity of ingredients. Bulk sales must account for that
for the place was very crowded.
