In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light...
went a poem I read as a child. Dawn comes quite
late in winter and one often has the feeling one is
stepping out at night. The moon is quite high in the
sky too but what catches one's eye is Venus, the
Shukratara or the morning star. It glows so bright
that one cannot help gazing at it.
No wonder it is associated with beauty.
The rest of the poem read...
...In summer quite the other way
I have to go to bed by day
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.
I have a feeling there were more lines but I can't
recall them.

winter,
