Spent an enjoyable afternoon reading
The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle.
Impeccable language and good characterisation,
like most Arthur Conan Doyle books.
However, the book reflects an extreme chauvinism
that is typically Victorian. Rich material for analysis
from a PoCo - postcolonial - perspective.
Taken as a plain adventure story, it is quite interesting.
Good for a rainy day - like today.
