We can usually predict the kind of friends a person would have,
though the converse is more popular - where people judge us by
our friends.
However, friendship is not that simple - definitely not simple
enough to be summed up in aphorisms. I meet someone new and find
that we get along well with each other - very well indeed. The
feeling eventually deepens into caring and warmth - into a close
friendship.
In an idle moment of objectivity, I think that my friend is far
from perfect. But then, it leads me to accept,
neither am I. Making new friends (though I don't do it very
easily or very often) definitely broadens my outlook and makes
me a wee bit less judgemental.
My friends have the tolerance to accept me as I am. Ironically,
this is what spurs me to constantly better myself.
I must have loads of good karma piled up in my account to have
the most wonderful friends.May everyone have such friends...so
that we all become better people.
