Ten Years After {VG Slash}

This is something new I've been working on. First person POV, present tense, just to make things difficult for myself. LOL! Hopefully this first tiny bit is intriguing without being completely unclear. But you all let me know. :-)

This is set in the present day of VG (hence the ten years after). The set-up is all Curt, but he's not the only one we'll be hearing from. :-)



Ten Years After

Ten years is a long time.

To work.

To live.

To love.

To...wait.

I tell myself it's not waiting, of course. I come to New York. I make my
pilgrimage to that bar outside the Garden. I nurse one fucking beer and
generally piss off the barmaid. Before I realize all over again...he's not
going to be there.

I ask myself why I go, but I don't have an answer. Not one that I want to
hear anyway.

He sends me tickets.

I tear them up.

I tape them back together. And use them.

I don't want to see his show. I don't know who Tommy Stone is. And what I
see and hear every time tells me...

...he doesn't know either.

He sucks. But he sells out every single night.

In more ways than one.

I've been warned not to talk to reporters if I know what's good for me.
Ha, if I knew that, I wouldn't be sitting here now.

In a smoky bar.
