I love how you've developed Merlin over the centuries. He isn't exactly unicorns and rainbows in canon, and you took that and let it keep growing. He's done some very ambiguous things over the years -- the hole soul-sucking thing with Viviane, Mordred, and Morgana, smashing Gwen and Lancelot's lives over and over again, and such. It's so real!
The angst is just killer, and I love how you played it! I also adore the entire thing with Ygraine and Nimueh. Why do I have a feeling that, years from now, the four of them are going to be sitting around the dinner table and Nimueh and Merlin are still going to be snipping and bitching at each other? Hee!

Yeah, I always thought Merlin would become a bit dark over the years, especially considering Arthur's fate. And while I hesitated first to let him kill Gwen and Lancelot, my muses pushed and pushed until I gave in. *g*
They SO will. :) Nimueh is like the mother-in-law from hell, even if she isn't Arthur's mother. She will surely keep Merlin on his toes. :DD
I have just fully indulged myself all morning in this fic and really what a gorgeous way to start the day!
I absolutely adored the whole setting of this world, how Merlin had been waiting so long and having Arthur 'the great king' reborn in this new life as a homeless addict. Such a unique twist. The build up of Arthur remembering was played out beautifully and the end was just perfect! There are endless words for how much I enjoyed this BB! <3

I loved the idea and your characters so much. I loved it, that both of them were kinda fucked up and once Merlin got Arthur back he had his little breakdown as well. All these feelings. Beautiful done! ♥♥♥
