This week I was added to a facebook group for my 10 year high school reunion. There was no physical invitation in the mail. Not even an invite to the group. I only even knew because suddenly my email inbox filled with notices that so and so posted or who ever was added to the group. I don't mind so much, I would have joined anyway, but I was hoping for a little more ceremony. A little hoopla to mark the occasion. I thought I wouldn't care so much about the reunion. I'm still friends with most of my friends from back then even if we don't hang out as often. Then facebook keeps you in touch with almost everyone you'd care to even stalk through photos. But still I'm excited about it. It'll be fun to see who has a million kids and who has changed so much I don't recognize them.

Since I've been updating so irregularly and it's only ever about my dog here's some more of the same. Since the last post Caity had a stroke just before Thanksgiving. It was scary and very upsetting, but thanks to the wonders of steroids her brain re-wired itself. Then 3 weeks ago she had another seizure. It wasn't as long as the first one, but it was just as dramatic and occurred at the same time of night. Clearly it shares a common trigger with the first one, but what that trigger could be is anyone's guess. So now she's on an anti-seizure medication and she's responded wonderfully. No drowsiness, no increased epilepsy. I just took her to the vet yesterday afternoon for her first blood test to check on how her body is handling the phenobarbital. That's right, my dog is on a barbiturate. If this were the 50's or 60's she'd be the coolest dog on the block. I was a little worried that the pills might change her personality, but if anything she's even more affectionate than before. I love my Caity :)

Like most people I know, I caught that cold that has been going around. You know, the one that lasts 2 weeks and isn't bad, but just. wont. let. go. Only I'm super special so mine is going on 3 weeks. Yay me! Gold star!
