( Oh, a voice, Soubi thinks and even though he can’t see or hear, he knows who the voice belongs to. He can even imagine how Ritsu would be crouching beside him, how, yes, now, like that, Ritsu would lift up a strand of his hair and examine it like he examines the specimens framed on his office walls. )

One of the things that really gets me about Ritsu and Soubi's relationship is how inherently and naturally trust each other. Even though Soubi is like DDD8< Ritsu, when it comes to it, he knows that he can trust and rely on Ritsu, like when he phoned Ritsu for information on Zero and when he asked Ritsu to let him and Ritsuka into the academy. It's like there's dual sides to that concept of 'ownership'? That while Soubi 'belongs' to Ritsu, it also means that Ritsu is responsible and cares for him, like he's a belonging, as part of himself.
As for Soubi losing his ears, I really think that Soubi would just be neutral towards it. So while he's not like "RITSU-SENSEI PLEASE HAVE ME!!11!!!" (lmao, no) he doesn't object to it at all. It's just matter of fact for him, and idk, it might be such a big deal since it might just seem like another form of Ritsu's disciplines.
