Summer and the Tunes therein
Summer school has finally ended! I am done with class until the end of August, and I am so happy! For the past few days I have done little more than lay around, and it has been absolutely fantastic. I picked up Brief Interviews with Hideous Men for the first time in months, I organized my closet, I designed a new section for the revamp of Emerald Star, and I've been going through new music, which I will share with you now:

I'd heard the Jamie Cullum cover, but I recently discovered the original, which I love SO MUCH more! Buckley is so jazzy and raw. If some guy sang this to me, I would definitely come over.

Pull the blindfold down so your eyes can't see.
Now run as fast as you can through this field of trees.
It's one of those songs that makes me drive fast.

past the city and down to sea.
It's a deeply atmospheric piece that reminds me of driving at night. It's one of those that you can just close your eyes and lose yourself in.
The Ocean by The Bravery
The sun and the moon,
an ocean of air.
So many voices, but nothing is there
but the ghost of you asking me why,
why did I leave?
There is something deeply nostalgic about this song for me. I like the lack of a drumbeat until the final chorus, too. The piano ebbs and flows like waves. Yeah, I love it.
Take Me Anywhere by Tegan and Sara
You say you don't see any part of me
to love in all this mess, and i know
you take the good and all the bad that comes with me.
This one just makes me smile. :)

And just like the rain I'll be always falling,
only to rise and fall again.
CARY BROTHERS! I LOVE YOU! It's the mellow but emotionally charged sound I have been searching for!
All the Trees of the Fields Will Clap Their Hands by Sufjan Stevens
I heard from the trees a great parade,
and I heard from the hills a band was made.
Will I be invited to the sound?
Will I be a part of what you've made?
There's an a cappella bluegrass vibe to this track that I like. The banjo is lovely.
Maybe I will upload these later so you can experience the awesome. :P Now, bedtime.
