This Saturday at Encounters Convention, I'll be on a panel along with filmmaker Leif Jonker, author Ben S Reeder, and author/game developer Davis Ray Sickmon, Jr. We're going to be exploring whether fantasy is indeed ascendant over science fiction, and the reasons for that. I am seriously thinking of suggesting panels about:

1. Men talking to men about rape.
2. Abortion rights
3. Female bodybuilders viewed through society's lens of expectation.
4. It would also be nice to do something on women in armor....
5. And writing fight scenes.

Some time ago I saw a note about the 2012 ORU Science and Science Fiction Conference, When Worlds Collide: Science, Faith, and the Imagination on badgerbag's blog.  I don't know if anyone has found out anything more about it--considering it's about science and science fiction--at Oral Roberts University--it seems highly suspect to me.
