Last night I had a modeling gig--no, it's not the glamorous kind of modeling where you put on cool clothes and have people take pictures of you--nope, this is no clothes, in poses that stretch on for minutes and minutes and minutes--in front of a motley group of art students. And believe me, it's not chilly at all! I'd like to be fitter if I'm going to continue to do this (I've been doing it very sporadically for a year or two, for one teacher through Wichita CityArts), not because of my size, but because of the strength that's required to hold a pose for 5, 15, 45 minutes. This time I got to pose with a wooden kitana, and that was very cool, but it inspired me to pick poses that may have been a bit much for my out of shape self! Let that be a lesson to me. I do like posing with props though, and next time, I'll ask the teach if I can bring something.
