We have, where I teach, a women's lit instructor who just recently secured her tenured position and this is what she tells her students per the military.
"The US Soldier is the modern day equivalent of the Nazi Stormtrooper."
Additionally, she told my significant other (who works in the same place) "You are dating THAT MAN?"
Yeah, the Left is doing a lot to show me that we now have "change" I can believe in. I gotta admit. That is pretty fucked up going after my significant other (who, I might add, voted for Obama and has two sons in the Marines).
But when I told her, "See why I am not a Democrat anymore?" my significant other nodded.
I get a new one to add to the Leftists Hate Soldiers Quotes every few weeks. I get them more frequently now that I teach. The only difference is that these people do not say these things directly to my face.
My apologies. It wasn't meant as a reply, simply a post. LJ seems to be the only blog engine that does this strange thread thing and to be honest, I spend more time reading LJ than posting on it.
Hope your husband is well. He's got my support, for what it is worth. Hopefully he never runs into what I've encountered.
Okay, fionn made me cry, now you're doing it, too. And please tell your friend, Murph, that most of us lefties hate war, not the warriors. There is a distinct difference there--a lesson learned from the Vietnam war.

Like the book I read my child last night--about eyes--the protagonist is a little white boy with enormous blue eyes. His bunny has enormous pink eyes.
What if I were a little kid with brown eyes? And my family all had brown eyes? I'd feel as if that book wasn't for me.
