It's a three day weekend. I'm actually thinking about taking it, because I worked too much during Thanksgiving and Christmas. On the other hand, I've gotten very little Actual Science accomplished in 2015 so far. At the very least I'll have to do some planning from home.
Right now, I'm watching Man of Steel, which has been on my DVR since last April. Why are the latest DC superhero movies so dark? It's not a terrible movie, but there is just no joy in it, at least so far. And I'm 80% of the way through it, so I'm not very optimistic about the rest. I guess it's because I grew up with the Christopher Reeves movies.
Maybe I'll go to the movies this weekend. Somehow the local AMC is still showing Interstellar and the third Hunger Games, neither of which I've seen yet. I wouldn't mind seeing Into the Woods either. Or maybe I'll just wait for them to be on cable. I'm not super into movies lately, and I should clean my apartment.
Upcoming: on Wednesday next week is the Penguins / Blackhawks game where I'm right up on the glass. Expect photos. Then Friday is the first symphony performance in a month, followed by Gladys Knight on Saturday. Another hockey game the following Tuesday (to complete my collection of promotional bobbleheads) and another symphony on Friday and then the opera on Sunday. SO I'm going to be busy. So I should probably work this weekend.
Man, I should've watched Les Miserables instead (also on my DVR since April, except that one I did see in the theater.) At least Les Mis is uplifting (eventually). [Okay, the LexCorp "This site has been 106... 0 days without incident" sight gag was kind of cute.] [Okay, Amy Adams' last line in the film was also kind of amazing. And Clark smiled, even. Why wasn't there more of thaaaaaat?]
