Oh that's clever!

Maybe I should call my current WIP "Aragorn's Untitled Adventure, In Which He Encounters Eagles".

Eh, maybe not...

I thought it rather clever, too! *g*

LOL!!! You could also call it "Aragorn's Untitled Eagle Adventure", or "The Ranger and the Wizard's Untitled Adventure", or "Aragorn's Untitled Angsty Adventure"... You know, I'm beginning to think this kind of title doesn't work so well in the LotR fandom - though it would undoubtedly simplify things. :D

Hee hee... instead of "At Hope's Edge", I'd have used "Aragorn's Unspecified Encounter with Unnamed Faceless Ne'er-do-wells".

LOL! Methinks that title would have led to some very interesting responses on SoA and in the MEFAs. *g*

Hm... that would be a very nice way of finding a good title for a story without having to come up with it yourself, though. You just post a story with a hideous title and wait for the annoyed readers to suggest lots of alternative titles. *is tempted to try it* LOL.

You may have stumbled onto something. *g*

I usually don't have too much trouble with titles... there's usually a phrase somewhere in my story that sort of encapsulates the theme of the tale. That doesn't work as well in shorter stuff, though.

I wish I could say that about my stories. ;-) I do occasionally have stories where the title just comes to me before the story is even finished, but usually I need a quite some time and a lot of thinking until I'm able to come up with a title I'm pleased with.

It's so much better when it comes *without* the time & heavy thinking! But that's rare.

And of course, having said that I usually don't have trouble with titles, I've yet to come up with my Rangery-Eagle WIP. Maybe I'll call it that! "The Rangery-Eagley Story". *g*

Oh no, I hope I haven't infected you with my title troubles. *g* Hehe, I like that title - very original! *chuckles* How about "The Angsty Adventure of the Grumpy Wizard and the Ailing Ranger"? LOL.
