Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas
Finally opened my xbox 360, and I finally got the chance to play Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas. Absolutely SPECTACULAR. Both games look fantastic, and by fantastic, I mean the best graphics I have ever seen on a console to date (particularly Gears of War). Both use cover systems, with rainbow's being more intuitive. Rainbow Six's gameplay mechanics work better on a fundamental level and create a smoother action-to-action transitional gameplay experience. Gears of war delivers in terms of the flow of the game, superior graphical consistency, and intense pacing. But don't get me wrong, Gears still works pretty well on the gameplay side once you get used to the double positioned control scheme that's standard. It is intensely visceral (with it's chainsaw sending blood into the screen), and a satisfying male experience that makes you go RAWR!
