I'm too weak to peer pressure.

Ok, I've finally given in to the constant pressure to update this journal (which I didn't plan to do when I created it). To celebrate this rare occasion I've decided to update with my Linux machine. Yes, that's right, I finally got it to work. Linux is installed and it's running semi-smoothly (it hasn't crashed yet, and I don't expect it to in the future).

After messing with Mandrake and Redhat, neither of which worked properly, I've finally settled on Debian 3.0 r1. Since I only downloaded the first Install disk, I'm limited to using GNOME. KDE is a lot better in my humble opinion (no pun intended). It's also running on my old PII machine so it all feels a big sluggish. I can't tell for sure though whether the computer is slowing it down or if the program is just too intensive for the machine. If anyone knows of a good GNU/Linux distribution that will run well on an old rig and also has a good GUI, please tell me.

There, that's my update.

Enjoy.
