It's a great day to be alive

I got a job. I test engines. It's really fun. I like the people I work with. It's two people to an engine, so I work with Ramone. He's 25 and really laid back. He goes to MiIT which is where I'll be starting on Monday. The "bosses" are Tom and Dominique. They do the same job as us, but they've been there six months and put out more engines than anyone EVER has. They do three engines in one hour, most people are lucky if they get two an hour, so that's REALLY good. Because they're so good they sort of run the place. They're the ones who did training and they always check up on everyone. Tom makes a lot of jokes about writing people up and Dominique is always talking about how "you can't beat perfection" which is what he apparently is. He also goes on about Ford a lot and how great it is. I happen to disagree, but there's no way I'd tell him that because he'd be up my ass in a jiff.

So today the team on cell 12 (those are the rooms we work in) cross threaded a coolant plug and Tom thought it was us. He reamed Ramone and I out a little and then we finally got him to understand that it wasn't us and that cell 12 must have written cell 11 on their paperwork because we didn't have a failed engine and that wrack had a failed engine. So he got even more pissed, called them over, and reamed them out for A WHILE!!

Ramone and I are working really fast. It's amazing how quickly we picked up on this.

I'm going to Heather's tomorrow for a bit before work. I'm excited to see how much better this gets. I talked to her about our "issues" and it's all sorted out now. We just have to both work on it and it'll get better which we're both doing and it's gotten a lot better since. I just hope we can keep it up.

We're almost done with my sub box for the truck. My dad just has to get around to painting it.

OH YEAH!!! I forgot something about work. I got burned really bad last Friday. It was my second day. I'd never done the one side of the engine and Dominique neglected to mention that I have to go over the wires above the exhaust pipe rather than under. I went to pull this lever that unlocks the cover for the flywheel and my hand slipped. I now have a brand on my left forearm that looks like skid marks. Second degree burns are fun ^.^
