oh the joys of being 16..
there are so many things in life that we all have to worry about..today in lit we had a discussion on how todays society is materialistic and so future oriented. and its so true..so many people, especially around this area, think that being wealthy and having a nice car and brand name clothes and purses and having the most high tech this and that is so important and necessary for life..a happy life that is. its amazing how our judgement can be so off from reality.
and doesnt it seem like EVERYTHING is centered on the damn future? it seems like every little choice or mistake we make today will effect our entire lives..everyday we try to succeed in school so we can get into a good college so we can get a good job so we can live a decent life so we can support our children so our children will succeed..so on and so on..sometimes i just want to take all the pressure and expectations, put them in a box, fly to an island on the coast of italy, feed them to a shark, and then spend my life basking on the beach. that would be wonderful. but wait, thats not possible..i have a future to worry about remember?
*sigh* sometimes i wish i could be a little innocent 5 year old girl wearing little pink dresses again.
