I've almost finished my degree. Two essays, two exams, and that's it. DONE. Only of course now there's applying to various things, and I've found myself completely blocked when it comes to writing personal statements for Masters. Been talking to my friend Jon about how unsettling it is to finish something as huge as this. I actually remember in school, those 'where do you see yourself in five years' type questions they're so fond of asking, I always said university. This whole next part has me stumped. I'm thinking about screenwriting, and know there's some great courses. All that's left is to write these two pages about why I want to do it, and why they should choose me.
Uuuuummmmm. :/ huh.
Jon's been giving me one heck of a pep talk. This post is pretty much so I have somewhere to document his brilliant turn of phrase, because it's dark and silly and a little true, and made me smile.
What if you're not burned out? What if you're just primed and waiting for a spark to ignite? Maybe you've been biding your time, deliberating over precisely how and why you are going to burn, like some kind of twisted creative arsonist?
