Season premiere...

Sep 22, 2004 23:17

Now that the summer lull has passed, I'm back to my "regular" updating. Har, har.

Lots has happened since I last updated. I'll recap really quickly since I suck at detailed posts, especially belated ones.

In no particular order:
- saw Cirque de Soleil: Alegria... C'est fantastique! Merci, Kaitlyn.
- saw Sky Captain... Though I like the actors -- particularly Angelina and Gwyneth -- overall the movie didn't do it for me. It didn't seem whole or complete... more like a TV episode than a feature film.
- had dinner with Vivi and some of her former roomies... I was being (potentially) set-up with one of her friends, but no sparks were there. The girl reminded me too much of someone I knew.
- family bbq up in Bradford... that now marks the furthest north I have driven. I think it's near Lake Simcoe. While the adults went to Casino Rama, I babysat the kiddies... we played Mario Kart: Double Dash for the GameCube, fun!

So tonight was the season premiere of Smallville! Without spoiling too much for those who haven't seen it yet, there were lots of things you wouldn't expect to ever seen in the series, including:
- buck naked Clark and stark naked Lana
- "no flight, no tights" no longer
- 2 Lois Lane's appear
- new intro credits with 2 less regulars and 1 new face

On a related note, I happened to pick up a free copy of The Toronto Star (the inspiration behind The Daily Planet. They debuted a new column written by a hometown girl who went by the monicker, Naked 905. I dediced to write her an e-mail to which she responded tonight:
Hi Chi-Hung,

Wow! Thanks for the e-mail! I'm super psyched about my new job and I think it's even cooler that you went out of your way to send me a congratulatory note. It's also nice to discover that people other than my immediate family read my articles.
I will try my hardest to put Richmond Hill on the map and make it look as cool as possible (is that possible?). If you have any tips on stuff to do for fun around here or other things I should write about, please let me know.

It was good to hear from you!

Vanessa

Well, gosh be darned... perhaps she's my Lois Lane, haha.
