The Flowerfield Family Farm

Sep 18, 2007 12:53

I have pictures for a Part 2 involving the family . . . but they're no longer accurate, due to a big screwup on my part. I figured - why worry about my custom neighborhoods immediately with the installation (I'd plunked a lot of CC into my game)? Why not just take them out, and add them back in later, once I'd figured out how much CC Bon Voyage can handle? Which is about a tenth of the previous amount on my machine, it seems.

I'd completely forgotten about the little fact of how it alters the save game formats. And I'm lazy.

So. My upcoming Bachelor Challenge? Gone. The Family Farm? Gone. The only story I had going that isn't gone (it's just getting something of an overhaul) is Tale of Two Women. I could un-install Bon Voyage, put them back in, and re-install, but I've got no idea what that'd do to the base neighborhoods (which I have played a little before I realized what's up).

And I'd played a substantial part past the pics of the farm I had set aside for them. :p

So . . . I've put Sweet Gregory Dean's template back in, and I'm starting the Family Farm over from almost square one. Almost. I restored to them all the children they'd had at the time. But no skill points, no scholarships, no career rewards (not that they had any), and no badges. They have to re-earn all that themselves.

So without further ado, let me (re)introduce you to everybody.

My simself, and one of the two founders of this legacy. Due to my own absent-mindedness, I never remembered to use SimPE to make a template of her - all of her current kids now are made with the new version in CAS.

Generously donated by Madame_ugly. I love this guy. He's sweet, he's attentive to his kids, he likes gardening, he makes the most adorable faces sometimes, he wanders around in his skivvies . . . Heehee. He may be a slob, but he doesn't do what what really annoys me with major slobs - break everything by using it. He's still got his suit, but I picked that little H&M number because it seemed formal enough, but still up for being dirty from yard/garden work.

Cranky-ass supreme of this family. Mean, and not about to back down from anybody. The first time around, it took me a long time to remember madame_ugly's tip about plastic flamingos. She's named in the tradition established by Gregory Dean - Tina is short for Tina Turner. The song in particular? 'Nutbush' I snickered my ass off at that.

Short for Akira Toriyama, the force behind the music of the Silent Hill series. The particular song that caused her naming was 'Rain of Brass Petals'. I enjoyed this girl, even if she caused herself to freeze practically to death, then got her siblings taken away . . . due to the game glitching, I exited without saving and restarted the lot. But that doesn't matter now. I don't have a shot of her as teenager among the old ones, but I assure you, she was a teen before I acted the bonehead. Just as cranky as her older sister.

Poor boy. His name's due to this earworm. It's worksafe (except it makes you hungry). I don't really remember what his previous personality was like - except that he really, really loved cleaning once he hit kidhood. So he gets to be a kid again. And he's got the alien eyes this time around.

Little Takoyaki is the last kid I can remember the name of, and have pictorial evidence for. (how embarressing) But when Takoyaki became a toddler, his mom crapped out a baby brother for him, and they quickly followed up with a pair of twins. At that point, I'd moved Tina out in order to make space for another kid - I really wanted to beat my Grandma's record of seven kids (all of which are alive and well today. Family reunions are HUGE).

So, without further ado, meet:

Song: 'Fat Bottomed Girls'. The kid just . . he was so happy to get this makeover, that I couldn't dress him normally. A kid by default, as I couldn't remember if he'd age transitioned before the loss or not.

Song: 'Poodle Hat'. Not much is yet known about this toddler - except she really doesn't need much sleep for some reason. O_o;

Song: 'A Sword For A Frog'. If I'd been thinking clearly, I would've named this boy after the creator of the remix rather than the game it came from. He's cute, in a lumpy way. I'm looking forward to seeing him all grown.

Well, that's everybody. With luck, I'll have enough shots soon to document their fumbling towards a running farm, and other such things.
