July 4th Weekend
2 years since my last entry, I see. Many triumphs and challenges in between then. But all in all, glad to report I'm healthy and well!
I celebrated Independence Day with ♥. We barbequed steak and chicken at ♥'s family's house and our friend came over that night to go cruise around for fireworks. We took out ♥'s classic cabriolet with the top down and drove on the freeways in LA and OC areas. It was a tad difficult to pin down a place since most were crowded already and we left late but it was actually pretty cool having fireworks explode above us on the road. Afterwards, we stopped at an amazing donut place - famous for their blueberry as well as red velvet flavors. =F
Yesterday, I was finally was able to get together with my cousins and their respective significant others (rare!) for a triple date. It was a chill dinner/hangout, and I hope we're able to do it again soon. We dined sushi and ♥ ordered Horin sake for the first time which was somewhat pricey but exceptionally smooth. A very good sake, although we agreed there were still better which cost less. We strolled down a few stores over for ice cream and then coffee. It was a very complete meal, haha.
I'm heading back today to the family house since I was able to snag a job close by. Only had 1 day training and will be starting on my own this week. Even though it'll probably turn out being a temporary position for summer, I'm grateful to gain any experience. It's been a trial looking for a jobs when places only want those with experience; new grads have little chance.
