"If you could keep me floating... just for a while"

I love having company! It was really awesome to visit with Brian this week.

Christine is coming on Friday, and Lauren will be here Saturday morning. It will be a bit crazy because we have a dress rehearsal performance on Saturday and the actual recital is that evening. But still- people! Since I'm lactose intolerant and I usually disregard it, I'll actually have to watch what I eat this week. Which sucks, especially since I love preparing rich food for guests. And I know that planning this far ahead makes me a dork, but I won't have extra time later this week.

Friday is the day before the performance and Christine will be here in time for dinner. I'll need a lot of protein and carbs that night, so I think I'll make Scheherazade casserole (it looks really good and I can assemble it a day in advance) with a greek salad (mmm, olives). I want to do a dessert, but it has to be light- I made a pie for Tyler once (we took it to the airport outlook and ate it while bugs ate us- but the planes were pretty)... Maybe I'll make that. Yay! And Lauren's coming over, and she raves about falafel all the time, so I'll make some homemade. I have pitabread and chick peas that must be used, and it'll be a good lunch for before the performance.

Jennifer may have shingles, but she plans to perform anyway. I found a dress to rent, but I think I will still make a bustle- we're going over sewing plans on Monday after rehearsal (Happy Memorial Day to me- uh). I think I'm going to find out if she, her mother and Chase would like to have a costume workshop thing at my house. Jennifer's mom has been really great, and we have a TON to do, and Chase does not have a costume yet.

Plus, it will be a good way to make sure he eats something substantial. I'm really worried about him. He no longer works at Joe's so he is unemployed right now, and he is living on an alotment of goods from a food kitchen. I drove him to pick them up and the amount they gave him is SO scanty. Most of it is canned. But he won't just accept food... so if I make dinner and offer to feed everyone, maybe he'll eat. Since I've known him, he's lost 20 pounds. This guy is a professional dancer- he has no body fat- he cannot AFFORD to lose that much weight. Particularly not since he is auditioning for a New York City based company this summer.

The folks are coming up. That'll be interesting. Oh shite. I should find out when.

And I'm supposed to meet with Stacey about my humanities contract. And I've got to alter my pants for Lady because they're too big.

Have I begun to pack? Nah.
